Annemartine van Kesteren is a museum professional, cultural entrepreneur and strategic leader based in Rotterdam. Trained as an Industrial Design Engineer at TU Delft, she worked several years at Philips Design developing products and creative strategies for clients across Europe, Asia and the Americas — before bringing that same systems-thinking to the world of art and culture as senior curator of contemporary design at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
She specialises in contemporary design and culture. Counterculture, diversity and inclusion, future thinking and a more-than-human perspective are central to her multidisciplinary practice — spanning exhibitions, public programmes, publications, writing and lectures.
She believes art is more than a cultural expression: it's a compass. A way of seeing what society has not yet put into words. Her work — whether curating exhibitions, advising organisations or teaching the next generation of designers — is driven by one constant: making the signal of creative thinking visible, and ensuring it reaches everyone.
She works with museums, companies, foundations and private collectors on strategy, creative direction and cultural entrepreneurship.
